"When you say "beads", most people imagine children's toys and or a material for cheap costume jewelry. With my work I want to show that beadwork is much more than "just stringing", that beads are a full-fledged artistic medium and that they can be used to make exclusive, high-end jewelry."

Nela Kábelová is a Czech jewelry designer, specialized in beadweaving and bead embroidery. She creates unique jewelry inspired by nature, ancient history and cultures all over the world, her style could be best described as bold, full of unusual color combinations, often combining traditional Czech and Japanese glass beads with gemstones and other natural materials.

She also cooperates with bead stores and manufacturers, teaches beading classes all over the Czech Republic, creates beading patterns and tutorials that are being published online or in various beading and hobby magazines - this way she is sharing her experience, her ideas and inspirations with people all around the world.
